Monuments
The monuments to undergo restoration have been indicated by the Superintendency of the Architectural Heritage and Landscape of Venice and the Lagoon and the Municipal Authority of Venice. SMS Venice Onlus is the body managing the funds raised through a wide variety of donation sources. The sites to be set up via this campaign are:
- 1. Procuratie Nuove - Saint Mark's Square: complete internal restoration
- 2. Royal Garden and Pier: restoration and general tidying
- 3. The Church of San Giorgio Maggiore
: restoration of the Statue of San Giorgio and the lantern of the dome - 4. The Napoleonic Gardens of Castello: design of general redevelopment
- 5. Church of San Giuseppe di Castello: put into security
- 6. Rialto Bridge: introductory work scaffolding for restoration
- 7. Church of the Gesuits, Cupola representing 'The Triumph in the Name of Jesus': restoration of the stucco/plaster of the dome
- 8. Church of San Salvador : restoration of the pipe organ
And a series of other interventions pending definition.
