Tuesday July 8th, 2008 Momix opened SMS Venice, the celebration of international artists who in the suggestive frame of Plaza San Marco they put on a show to raise funds in favor of artistic heritage of the city. On the Venetian stage the company presented also Aqua Flora, a new choreography drawn from the last work of Moses Pendleton BOTHANICA, on tour and in Italy in 2009. La company of dancers and illusionists enchanted the Venetian public with magnificent choreography that is their characteristic trace, in a spectacle that suggests and anthology of nail biting pieces: THE BEST OF MOMIX 2008 is in fact the homage that the ingenious choreographer Moses Pendleton dedicated to the company, an essay of more than 20 years of unmentioned successes that Moses and his astonishing dancers gifted to the public. Poetry, illusion, comedy, sweetness, but also sensuality, virility, power: this spectacle gathers and harmonizes the quintessential factors of emotion that only Momix manages to provoke. A liberating free dance theater, that breathes from a special quality: that of an intelligent lightness, a creativity that takes the heat away, merry. The Best of Momix 2008 goes back over the most incredible of these extraordinary performances: Opus, Cactus, Passion, Sun Flower Moon, SuperMomix and they also give a small gift by including Bothanica.
