La Fenice Theatre

On February 26th, Theater La Fenice hosted a large benefit concert that saw and heard the splendid voice of Madeleine Peyroux, jazz and pop singer compared often to Billie Holiday. The artist, born in 1974 in Georgia, mixes easily elements of jazz, country, and blues, singing in English but not ignoring the repertory of French authors such as Serge Gaisbourg or Edith Piaf. For this occasion, she presented in a worldwide sneak preview her new album “Bare Bones”, produced by Larry Klein, Walter Becker and Joe Henry, which contains pieces written and composed by Peyroux.

With a soul equally divided between soul, jazz, and Latin rhythms, with poetic and suggestive lyric, Madeleine Peyroux, in just over and hour and a half of performance, managed to recreate a seductive and refined atmosphere.
